3 words to describe your bodywork?

Tailored, Functional, Intuitive.

What makes you a great massage therapist?

I believe its my ability to find those places in a clients  body where they hold stress, tension, and pain; and finding the functional cause whether postural, physiological or mechanical.  Locate, dig in, and release - blended with long relaxing fluid strokes to make it all better.

What type of bodywork do you like to receive?

I think most massage therapists give the massage they would like to receive: For me, that's deep tissue and trigger point therapy blended with therapeutic stretching.  I have neck issues from looking down for a living and paddle sports, so any bodywork there helps.

What do you do when you are not at the Studio?

I maintain this website and all social media.  I work out, not because I like it, but because I couldn't do my job well without it, and during the long Texas summer I paddle 3 times a week and race with the Dallas Outrigger Canoe Club.

Mountains, Ocean or Desert?

Ocean 1st, Mountains 2nd, I grew up in Venezuela on a beach city, I love me some water.

Do you have animals?  What kind are they, and what are their names?

I have an English Bulldog named Stella and a French Bulldog named Frank.  Stella is my girl, Frank is my wife's child.  And I dont call them animals.

Favorite Treat?

Bread Pudding from Avilas's on Maple (its lifechanging!),

Key Lime Pie with a Rasta Old Fashioned from Lekka

Favorite childhood memory?

Not paying bills!

What are your favorite quotes?

Take care of your body its the only place you have to live.

- Jim Rohn

Growth is painful. Change is painful. But nothing is as painful as staying stuck somewhere you don't belong.

- Mandy Hale

Dan's recent 20 year work experience at a Chiropractic and Rehab clinic exposed him to effective protocols in: back pain relief during pregnancy, thoracic outlet syndrome, pre and post cervical and lumbar fusion protocols, protocols for scoliosis with harrington rods, TMJ with bruxisim and  or trigeminal neuralgia, to name a few.

If you are looking for an experienced Massage Therapist, Dan has performed well over 50,000 massages and counting in his career. With this training and experience he can meet most demands, from the most relaxing put you to sleep massage, to deep tissue injury relief and active release technique for chronic problems.

Dan loves what he does for a living, he's been blessed with a skill that he honors by practicing it to his full potential regardless of the client or the complexity or simplicity of the task at hand.  He is honored to be entrusted with his clients body for care and in his humble  appreciation performs to the best that he can every single time.

He is addicted to travel and photography, thank god that his wife of 20+ years has learned to love it as well.  He loathes to work out but does it regularly, paddles for fun, and loves his girl Stella (the bulldog) and his main man Frank (the frenchy).

Massage, besides its benefits, is a very personal thing, knowledge and skill are very important, so is bedside manner, proper draping, punctuality, respect for the body, personality, ethics, etc.  Dan prides himself in taking all these things into consideration to provide the best service he can.
